Wolf, dog, fox...what do you see?

I have been asked so many times what exactly this species of wolf, dog, or fox is in this design. For me, this is more of an inner feeling. I drew this design from my own thoughts. I didn't have reference images, and I just sat down on my back porch one day and started drawing. If only every drawing could flow out so easily, but alas, they all have their own process and timing. But what came out is a little of each of these and there is no wrong answer to the question, is it a wolf, dog, fox?

I drew this wolf (I'm going to call it a wolf because that is what it is to me), during a time when i needed some powerful energy. My husband and I were trying to find our balance between our then full time jobs and growing our new brand. I was working in an advertising agency and under tons of pressure all the time, and Matt was balancing the business while working in sales for a hotel. The wolf design has become a symbol of my own inner strength. We are all constantly pulled in different directions or having to face new challenges, especially now as parents along with business owners. Balancing strength and calm, along with exploring nature and also nurturing the pack as we grow.
