Last Fall, we got to experience the brand new glamping tents up at Piney River Ranch. They just built them about a year ago. They can sleep up to 4 people, with a Queen bed and two singles. There's a wood stove to heat the tent, and an endless supply of chopped wood. The decor inside is charming, rustic and authentically Colorado. Outside of the tents, there's a picnic table and fire pit. The fire pit has a removable grill to it, for open-fire cooking. All three glamping tents face out to the Gore Range, just steps away from the shore of the lake. Simply stepping out the front of the tents offers unbelievable views.
Piney River Ranch is located at Piney Lake, at the foot of the Gore Range. It's a truly stunning and spectacular setting. The Ranch is only open during the Summer and early Fall. To get there, you must drive six miles up Red Sand Stone road, just near the main Vail exit. This is a pretty rugged road. Therefore, make sure to have a car with good ground clearance and hopefully 4-wheel drive.
The Ranch has great facilities, including a fun bar and restaurant, as well as tons of event space. Locals often host weddings or other events here. Additionally, there's a boathouse where you can rent paddle boards or canoes. The river and lake have great fishing, and there's amazing hiking nearby.
With such spectacular views and so much to do, the glamping tents can make the perfect family vacation, or romantic getaway. They are also ideal for big group events.
I hope you liked the amazing video on Piney and the the glamping tents, by Kevin Banker Cinefoto. Elise and I were happy to be the subjects :)
